The Dunkel is perhaps one of the oldest of all beer styles, having been brewed in Bavaria to Reinheitsgabot since 1516.
The water profile of Westcombe Farm's spring lends itself to darker beers, so we've brewed the lager accordingly.
YQ population wheat grown by Fred Price at Gothelney Farm without any inputs, supplements organic Munich malt in the grist. As it's difficult to get this wheat malted, we are using it in its raw form and feel it adds a little nuttiness to what should already have bready undertones.
