This classic red from the world-renowned DOC Sicilia is bright with earthy undertones and sophisticated aroma profile of strawberries, red cherries and black plums. The palate is dominated by decadent red fruit flavors, finishing dry with velvet smooth, well-integrated tannins that lend structure and refinement. An elegant expression of terroir from one of the world’s most highly regarded volcanic islands.
Cantine Birgi - Founded in 1960 by ten local growers, Cantine Birgi is one of western Sicily’s largest and most established cooperatives, now representing around 1,000 members farming thousands of hectares around Marsala, Birgi Vecchi and Petrosino. Its vineyards lie in one of Sicily’s most historic wine zones, blessed with long, dry summers, steady Mediterranean winds and mild winters—ideal for both indigenous and international grapes, though the focus remains on Grillo, Catarratto, Inzolia and Nero d’Avola. Sustainability defines the winery’s identity: it is certified under Italy’s Integrated Production scheme, WIETA and Fairtrade, participates in biodiversity projects, and promotes reduced-input or organic farming.
