BA Flanders Red with Scottish Blueberries
Inspired by Flanders Reds of old, Blood Goat is a blended sour red ale combining 80% provision strength ‘young’ stock beer aged 4 months, with around 20% ‘mature’ stock beer aged in neutral wine casks for around one year. The combination of old and young beers has produced a complex sweet and sour flavour profile with a subtle oak character.
This blend was transferred onto 200g/l of spent blueberries and lees from a previous batch of Cerulean, in addition to 100g/l of fresh blueberries which further intensify the berry characteristics in this beer.
