Protafloc/ Whirlfloc
A natural seaweed based Carageenan product which is added during the last 10 minutes of the boil. Brite Wort is negatively charged and links to positively charged proteins as the wort cools. The resulting clump (fluctuation) falls as a sediment to produce a brighter beer. This makes the later addition of finings more effective in producing a clear beer.
Add 1/2 tablet per 5 gallons (25 litres) of beer. The tablets are added directly to the wort during the last 15 minutes of the boiling period.
